Introduction

The reliability of the electricity distribution network is a crucial aspect that must be considered to ensure continuity of the distribution of electrical energy to consumers. The equipment includes more current relay, automatic breaker (recloser), and fuse that works together to isolate disturbances and protect the distribution network and connected equipment.

In this study, the main focus is to coordinate the safety equipment in the 20 kV distribution network in the MG 3 PT. PLN (Persero) Binjai Rayon Kuala Area. This analysis aims to design an optimal safety system, using ETAP software version 16.0.0 to simulate the condition of the current phase of current to the ground and three phases. The results of the simulation indicate that there are adjustments required in the regulation of more current relay, recloser, and rating fuse.

Current settings for more current relay in this system are determined at 216 A with Time Multiplier Settings (TMS) of 0.15, which is in accordance with the characteristics of the inverse standard. This adjustment aims to ensure that more current relay can immediately respond to disturbances and prevent further damage to the tissue.

The two reclosers used, namely Rechoser 1 and Recloser 2, each set using the TCC1 Kyle 102 and TCC2 IEC Inv. Phase and soil current regulation for recloser 1 is 357 A and 179 A, while Recloser 2 is regulated in 66 A and 33 A. Rating Fuse used varies, namely 40t, 65T, 80T, and 100T, depending on the specific needs of each of them network part.
