The Relationship Between Reactive Stromal Expressions Using Trichrome Masson with Grading Histopathology Gleason Score in Prostate Adenocarcinoma at the Adam Malik Hajj Center General Hospital Medan
Prostate adenocarcinoma is a type of invasive cancer that affects the prostatic epithelial cells, leading to various histomorphological patterns. This disease is a significant health concern for men worldwide, and its impact is often associated with the prognostic factor and Gleason score. The relationship between reactive stromal expressions and histopathological grading using Gleason scores is crucial in understanding the progression and metastasis of prostate adenocarcinoma. This study aims to examine the relationship between reactive stromal expressions using Trichrome Masson coloring and histopathological grading using Gleason scores in prostate adenocarcinoma.
Prostate adenocarcinoma is a complex disease that involves the differentiation and secretion of neoplastic prostatic epithelial cells. The disease is characterized by various histomorphological patterns, which can be used to determine the prognosis and treatment strategy. The Gleason score is a widely used system for grading prostate adenocarcinoma, which takes into account the histopathological features of the tumor. However, the Gleason score has limitations, and there is a need to explore other prognostic factors that can be used in conjunction with the Gleason score.
This study used a total of 33 histopathological slides of prostate adenocarcinoma patients. The relationship between stromal reactions and histopathological grading was analyzed using Trichrome Masson coloring. Relevant clinical data, such as age and PSA levels, were obtained from medical records. To analyze the relationship between reactive stromal expressions and histopathological grading, a Somer's test was used.
The results of the analysis showed a significant correlation between reactive stromal expressions and histopathological grading, which fell into the Weak category (0.21-0.40). This correlation was positive, indicating that the worse the cell differentiation, the higher the positive level of reactive stromal expression, and vice versa.
The results of this study suggest that the assessment of the relationship between reactive stromal expressions and histopathological grading can be used to determine the prognostic factor in prostate adenocarcinoma. Understanding this relationship is not only important for diagnosis but also for the development of treatment strategies and handling patients with prostate adenocarcinoma. The use of Trichrome Masson coloring and Somer's test in this study provided a deeper insight into the pathology of prostate cancer and improved the quality of healthcare for patients.
This study provides further evidence of the importance of histopathological evaluation in prognostic prognates of prostate adenocarcinoma. The results of this study also show the potential for the use of stroma analysis as a determining factor in clinical treatment.
