Introduction

In East Aceh Regency, the work allocation of farm women is very low, with a significant number of unemployed women, making it the third largest unemployment worker group in Aceh Province. On the other hand, the number of women working in the agricultural sector is relatively low. This study aims to analyze the work allocation of female farmers and the factors that influence the allocation in East Aceh.

Background

The agricultural sector is a vital part of the economy in Aceh Regency, and women play a significant role in it. However, their involvement in earning a living is often limited due to various socio-economic factors. The unemployment rate among women in East Aceh Regency is high, with a significant number of women not participating in the workforce. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the work allocation of female farmers in East Aceh Regency.

Methodology

The method used in this study is Pearson's correlation analysis. Sampling was carried out using the accidental sampling method in two sub-districts, namely Peureulak and IDI Reuyek. The results of the analysis show that the only variable that has a positive relationship with the work allocation of farm women is the income of the female farm itself. Meanwhile, other factors such as education, husband's income, peasant women, and the number of dependents do not have a significant relationship with their work allocation.

Analysis of Socio-Economic Factors

When the income of a farm woman increases, most likely they will be more involved in agricultural activities. This can be caused by economic incentives that make them more encouraged to work in the agricultural sector.

This can be caused by the low level of education among farmers, which affects their ability to take advantage of existing employment opportunities. Better education should open more opportunities in the world of work, but in this case, there may be other more dominant factors such as tradition or household responsibility.
