Research Methods

This study employs multiple regression methods to analyze the relationship between PAD and regional expenditure in Mandailing Natal Regency. The data collected from the Regional Financial and Asset Management Office was analyzed using SPSS version 17 software for Windows. The data was tested for classic assumptions before the hypothesis test was carried out, using the t test, F test, and the coefficient of determination test.

Research Results

The results of this study indicate that partially, regional taxes and regional levies have a positive and significant influence on regional expenditure. Meanwhile, other regional original income has a negative and insignificant influence on regional expenditure. Simultaneously, regional taxes, regional levies, and other regional original income have a positive and significant influence on regional expenditure. This can be seen from the adjusted R-squared (R2) value of 92.7%. That is, 92.7% of regional expenditure can be explained by regional taxes, regional levies, and other regional original income. The remaining 7.3% is influenced by other variables that are not discussed in this research model.

The results of this study indicate that PAD has an important role in supporting regional spending in Mandailing Natal Regency. This shows the importance of efforts to increase PAD through various strategies, such as:
