Introduction

Taxation is a crucial aspect of any country's economy, and the implementation of tax amnesty programs is a significant step towards encouraging taxpayers to comply with tax laws. However, the success of such programs depends on various factors, including taxation socialization, fiscus services, and tax sanctions. This study aims to analyze the effect of these factors on the implementation of the Tax Amnesty Program at KPP Pratama East Medan, with taxation knowledge as a moderating variable.

Background

Tax amnesty programs are designed to encourage taxpayers to come forward and declare their hidden income, thereby increasing tax revenue and reducing the tax gap. However, the success of such programs depends on various factors, including the level of taxation socialization, the quality of fiscus services, and the enforcement of tax sanctions. Taxation socialization refers to the process of educating taxpayers about their tax obligations and the benefits of tax compliance. Fiscus services refer to the services provided by the tax authority, including tax filing, payment, and audit services. Tax sanctions refer to the penalties imposed on taxpayers who fail to comply with tax laws.

Research Methodology

This study uses a causal research approach with the population of all taxpayers in East Medan KPP who participated in the tax amnesty program. The sample size is 100 respondents, who were selected using a random sampling method. The data was collected using a questionnaire, which was designed to measure the level of taxation socialization, the quality of fiscus services, and the enforcement of tax sanctions. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis methods and residual tests to evaluate the effect of moderating.

Main Findings

The results of the study show that taxation socialization, the quality of fiscus services, and tax sanctions simultaneously affect the implementation of the tax amnesty program. However, partially, only taxation socialization and tax sanctions have a significant influence. This suggests that the government's efforts in socializing good taxation and enforcing clear tax sanctions are crucial in encouraging taxpayer participation.

The Role of Taxation Knowledge

Although taxation knowledge is expected to strengthen the relationship between these factors and the implementation of the tax amnesty program, the results show that this variable does not function as a moderating variable. This may be caused by a lack of deep understanding of taxation among taxpayers, even though the socialization has been carried out. Therefore, there needs to be further efforts to increase community taxation knowledge in order to better understand the benefits and consequences of the tax amnesty program.

Conclusion

Overall, this research underlines the importance of taxation socialization and enforcement of tax sanctions in encouraging the implementation of the Tax Amnesty Program at KPP Pratama East Medan. In addition, although taxation knowledge is not successful as a moderating variable, it is still important to increase education and tax information to the public so that more taxpayers participate in similar programs in the future. It is hoped that these findings can be a reference for the authorities in designing more effective and efficient taxation policies.

Recommendations

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:

Increase taxation socialization: The government should increase its efforts in socializing good taxation among taxpayers, including providing education and tax information to the public.
Enforce tax sanctions: The government should enforce clear tax sanctions on taxpayers who fail to comply with tax laws, in order to encourage taxpayer participation.
Improve fiscus services: The government should improve the quality of fiscus services, including tax filing, payment, and audit services, in order to increase taxpayer satisfaction.
Increase taxation knowledge: The government should increase community taxation knowledge in order to better understand the benefits and consequences of the tax amnesty program.
