The results of this study showed that there was an excess of doctors and nurses in the delivery room, general surgery, and inpatient rooms. Conversely, the outpatient rooms experienced a lack of nurses, resulting in a very heavy workload. The findings of this study are summarized in the following table:

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:

*** The addition of energy in the outpatient room: ** Hospital management needs to immediately increase the number of nurses in the outpatient room to overcome the lack of energy that occurs. This recommendation can be realized by mutating nurses from other units who experience excess energy.

*** Excessive use of energy: ** Doctors and excess nurses in several units can be diverted to the Puskesmas in the Binjai City area. In addition, they can act as active health counseling staff in the community, so that their contribution to public health can be maximized.

Conclusion

This study provides an important picture of the workload of medical personnel at the General Hospital Dr. R.M. Joelham Binjai. The proposed recommendations are expected to be a guide for hospital management in improving service quality and optimally utilizing medical personnel. Thus, medical personnel can carry out their duties more effectively and efficiently, so that the quality of health services in hospitals can be significantly improved.

This study has several limitations that should be acknowledged. Firstly, the study only examined the workload of medical personnel in a single hospital, which may not be representative of other hospitals in the region.
